EB x Leicester Riders Takeover

Earlier this month, we held a takeover event for a club we proudly sponsor – Leicester Riders. The event saw us take over the mezzanine area of the Morningside Arena, offering tons of freebies, games and a range of fun! Our staff thoroughly enjoyed it, and we were able to create an excited and buzzing crowd of basketball fans, ready for the Leicester Riders vs London Lions game straight after!

The Leicester Riders are one of the prominent teams in British basketball, and the London Lions (based on recent success) are possibly the best team in the country currently. Both teams have a prestigious history in the BBL (British Basketball League) – so this was a clash of 2 British basketball-ing giants worth getting hyped over!

Preparations for the takeover started weeks prior to the gameday – with our staff constantly working to get everything right – from ordering products, to organising transport for games and machines (such as the grabber, the spinner, desks, banners and more), to getting volunteers prepared for it.

On gameday, we ensured to get everything delivered to the arena on time, and to set everything up ready to go! Then after a team briefing, it was time to go! The fans started pouring in once the doors opened, and everything was going great. People had smiles on their faces, children were excited to be winning free prizes and playing games, and the atmosphere was brilliant.

After almost 2 hours of prize-winning, fans started going into the arena ready to watch a great game of basketball! We were delighted with the turnout and reaction to the takeover – fans loved it and we couldn't have asked for friendlier people to host an event for!
