EverythingBranded Donates Bags to Soft Touch Arts Charity

In our ongoing support of local charities and organisations, EverythingBranded representatives were invited to Soft Touch Arts 'Winter Creative Marketplace and Networking Event', to view the artwork and creations that the talented young people had created with our donated bags.

Soft Touch Arts is an award-winning Leicester-based charity that uses arts, media, and music activities as a tool to engage with disadvantaged young people. The Winter Creative Marketplace and Networking Event is an annual program supporting young people with creative talents who need extra support to develop enterprise skills, sell their work and undertake art and photography commissions for local businesses. It's also a chance for attendees to buy some individual and quirky Christmas gifts and cards.

EverythingBranded donated 200 plain canvas bags to Soft Touch Arts for the creative use of the young people to design as their own and sell during the Winter Creative Market Place and Networking Event.

The importance of Soft Touch Arts

Without the security of a happy, stable home it can be hard for children and young people to do well at school and think of a positive future. In Leicester, 35% (30,000+) children live in poverty – one of the highest levels of child poverty in England. Children living in poverty or with other barriers to achieving in education are more likely to leave school without 5 good GCSEs, have low aspirations, and have an uncertain future in terms of finding employment. They’re at increased risk of having multiple challenges at important transition points in their lives when their more privileged peers are going into further education or finding jobs.

Soft Touch has been using creative projects to engage with and transform the lives of young people in challenging life situations since 1986. Our projects unlock untapped potential and support the development of life skills, a sense of purpose, and aspiration to do well. We believe it because we’ve seen it happen."
