What is Bonfire Night?

Bonfire Night highlights the anniversary of an attempt to blow up the Houses of Parliament in 1605, as well as King James I and his government. This plan is now forever remembered as the 'Gunpowder Plot'. Traditionally when the bonfire is light, there will be a dummy man on the top of them, representing Guy Fawkes who was the mastermind behind the Gunpowder plot.
